A DEDICATION

EQUINE EULOGY By David Scott T'was ever near but far away, and money was the key. A lot of dreams, real in their way, of course the dreamer me. As years passed by, the dream would dim, would fade but still be there. I couldn't wouldn't, let it die like castles in the air. Determination keeps you straight, a strong unerring course. Let prophets wail "the hand of fate", One day I'd own a horse.

A rainy day and late in life burned hard on memories page. The wife and I, a blue black sky, the godman set the stage. No cymbals clashed no bright, lights danced,we heard no trumpets blare. But what we did see in the yard was an aged Arabian mare .

The head still proud in pouring rain, the stance that showed no fear, The snort to show her quiet distain, and yet, to say "I'm here". She's gone now, she had her run, took the good times with the bad. Taught me all a fool could learn and gave me all she had.

I may never reach the dizzy heights that Champions may bring. I may never hear a register, but I'll hear a hoofbeats ring. I may never know lifes meaning, or the pull of unseen forces. I may eat lots of canned baked beans now I'v paddocks full of horses. And the sound that makes your heart take flight, that echo's all around. At twilights glow or morning light, horse hoofbeats, on the ground.

This piece was written by Dave as a special memorial to our much loved foundation mare Lytishareen. She is missed still.
We dedicate it to all of the wonderful horses that have shared our lives in the past and made us realise just how much we have learn't from them and how much they have enriched our lives. They asked so little and gave so much. May their Stars burn forever bright and may we never forget them.
