In May of 2006 the Department of Social Development published the Guidelines for Early Childhood development Services. We have used these as a guide to create the infrastructure of our school.
We have informed the Great Kei Muncipality that we have opened and have had an informal visit by the social worker. We are still awaiting the registration process which is a time-consuming process in this area.
Federation of Waldorf Schools
One cannot call oneself a Waldorf school unless one has approval of the Federation of Waldorf Schools.
We have applied to the Federation and have been approved as a New Waldorf Initiative and will be registered as such for 7 years at which stage we will be able to apply to become a fully recognised Waldorf school. We have been given permission to state that we are using Waldorf principles and are following the process indicated to become a fully recognised Waldorf School.
