Harbour Studio

A warm welcome to Harbour Studio, the showcase for a selection of recent giclee prints (see "about giclee printing") of paintings by Malcolm Love.  Malcolm Love is an established professional artist working in oils and watercolours and living in Brighton. He has exhibited widely in London and the South East and has work in private collections in the UK and abroad.  He is a member of the Hesketh Hubbard Art Society in London and Art Societies in Sussex and has taught art in Schools and Colleges over a number of years.  A broader range of his work can be seen on his main website: www.malcolmlove.com .

Malcolm's landscape subjects are based on close observation and sound drawing of diverse subjects that have repeatedly inspired him in Britain and France, often featuring a strong central image derived from his involvement in the still life genre. The influence of his training in the Euston Road tradition (see Biography page) is clearly in evidence.  Solid but subtle and well modulated colour built slowly in layers upon his hallmark strong draughtsmanchip in the oils and a lighter, more direct response in the watercolours, lead here to striking and dramatic images independent of the contemporary fads that seem so irrelevant to him.
