April 25, 2008 Update
Nothing available at this time. Please see the NPGA website which will have a breeder listing for other breeders in the area. Also a great source for information on the care of pygmies and information about the breed if you are new to considering pygmies. Thanks!
See the Rabbit sale page if you are looking for a
lionhead or holland lop!
Price ranges depend upon the gender and quality of the goat and can vary, but since I have had several requests lately about unborn babies here are some guidelines below to give you an idea on price range.
Quality does and intact breeding bucks range from $300 and up, quality meaning that there are no mismarkings, undesirable traits like teat spurs and these animals should be at least competitive in the show ring. Of course management of the goat is essential to be a show winner so can not be guaranteed.
Quality wethers for showing are normally $150 and are banded no sooner than 8 weeks to give the urinary tract time to develop. (Mismarkings on wethers is allowed for showing since the main purpose when showing wethers is judging showmanship.)
Pet does will be priced according to the individual doe and the reason she is being sold as a pet.
All males born that are not considered herd sire quality will be wethered.
All our goats are NPGA registered, disbudded, and dam-raised if at all possible for the best chance of a fully developed immune system and correct muscle development. No babies will leave the farm until they have had all their vaccinations, wormings and are eating grain and hay well - fully weaned. This is approximately 8-12 weeks of age.
Goats are herd animals and must be paired with a companion.
Also young does are capable of breeding long before they should, for this reason we do not sell young babies in 'breeding pairs'. |
