Glasgow Angling Centre - Just to remind members that when you purchase goods at the shop to remind the staff that you are in the Glasgow branch of PAAS and they will put it on their computer, a percentage will go towards a fund which we will get at the end of the year and that will go towards prizes for our angling night. Thanks.
Around 12 members made the trip with a few fish being caught. The biggest of which fell to the rod of Willie McAuley who was fishing from Martin McNeil's boat - a day that he won at the last Angling Night raffle! Willie collects the £ 30.00 bait voucher and also the Thomas Duffy Memorial Shield.
Election of office bearers - current office bearers relected for another term. Subs are also due and are up to £7 this year, there will be a cut off date for members and that will be the 16th May which is the main PAAS AGM, please note if members who have not paid their subs by then, any claymore points or other trophies can not be counted.
Our last outing was to loch Ken, a few members made this trip, a few fish were caught, biggest going to Tony McTaggart with a 10 lber, Tony wins this months online baits voucher, well done.
7 members turned out for this event, was a slow day for most apart from an 8 lber and a 4 lber which fell to Neil Brown, well done to him as he wins this month’s bait voucher and also the winnoch cup.
Also a big well done to Rehman Malik for catching a pb on Menteith a 27 lber well done mate.
Only 3 nutters made the trip to our new water in high winds and heavy rain, no fish turned up so the £30 voucher will be entered into the raffle at this years Angling Night.

The lads representing PAAS at the recent Loch Awe open day, where treasurer Derek Smith and General Secretary Joe Toner rubbed shoulders with celebrity anglers Paul Young and Franny Ruiz. Just some of the work done to promote pike and pike angling by your hard working committee.
A tremendous turn out with 13 souls making the journey 'Doon the Water' and 3 lads from Tayside Branch as well. The weekend threw up some nice fish with plenty of doubles making an appearance together with a few twenties. The biggest fish of the trip resulted in a new PB for Louis McNeil for a 25lb boat caught fish. The main points for the weekend went to Joe Toner, Captain of Team Micron, Team Delkim having shot their bolt prematurely on the Friday night!
Joe Toner has been appointed the new General Secretary and Franny Ruiz as Chairman. Both lads would like to say thanks for all the kind words so far from members on the forum as they look forward to the challenges ahead.
Congratulations guys and I am sure everyone in the Glasgow Branch will lend their support. A big thank you must also go to Steve Tapley and Mark Carpenter for all their hard work over their last term in office. There are 2 positions still to fill on the committee as Derek Smith is standing down as Treasurer and Alistair McPhee is standing down as Events Organiser, if any members are interested in these posts please contact Joe or Franny.
Only 6 guys turned out for this event and the fishing wasn’t too good either, easterly winds did not help though. Franny and Giz ('affectionately' known as Team Delkim) managed 11 fish between them on the Saturday and therefore they win the Pairs Trophy.
Wullie McAuley got the biggest of the weekend a fish of 7 lbs so he wins the Islander Shield and the fishing voucher. Well done to the guys who turned out for the weekend.
-
April Claymore Outing - Loch Awe
The fish were preoccupied with spawning but Franny managed to winkle a wee'un out to collect the voucher for this month and also The Thomas Duffy Memorial Shield - well done!
-
March Claymore Outing - Loch Lomond
Only one fish was caught to Louis McNeil so he picks up the points and the prizes this month.
-
February Claymore Outing - Loch Ken
Our last outing was on loch Ken, a hand full of guys turned out for this, unfortunately the weather was on the cold side, minus 5 and freezing fog. The only fish for the day fell to Franny Ruiz, the biggest was 6 lb, Franny therefore wins this months £30 fishing vouchers.
-
January Claymore Outing - Loch Venacher
A few guys fished with David Hendry leading the way with a 19lber so he collects the £ 30.00 tackle voucher - well done Davie.
