The Pledge etc...

owww. banging your head against the wall doesn't feel good. just a tip.

The Pledge and the Government, and other such things..

The Pledge Of Allegiance (and other assorted stuff)

I am not entirely sure what you wish to gain from reading the insane psychobabble of a 15 year old girl, who’s opinions tend to annoy and anger everyone who actually listens to them. But since you asked so nicely, here you go. To begin, I hate this country. Plain and simple. It supposedly has “morals” and “ethical standards” that it supposedly adheres to, but generally, that isn’t the case. The government officials, who are in charge of our country, are supposed to be good people, who have morals and ethics. But that is not the case either. Our government is corrupt, and frankly I am ashamed to be in association with- rather a citizen of a country with leaders such as the ones that we have. It is appalling some of the things that the “leaders” of our country do and say. They are supposed to be role models, but instead they are self-centered, money grubbing scumbags. No wonder people in other countries hate us. The freedoms that we are supposed to posses are fake. The constitution states that we have the right to say whatever we want to. But there are now rules and regulations as to what we are allowed to say under that freedom that stated clearly that we have the FREEDOM OF SPEECH. For example, people are not allowed to say anything related to religion in the work place or in school, because if they do they will get kicked out or penalized (in the case that someone is offended by the remarks that you are making, which is usually what happens). It is sickening to think that freedoms such as saying things that pop into our mind, or stating an opinion, is beginning to float away, and be rewritten so that the freedoms are virtually non-existent as they once stood. Yes, I know what you are going to say next, “it’s a lot worse in other countries”. But that is not a good enough excuse. They are saying that we should be content with the way things are in our country and our government because it is a lot worse in other places. That is their pathetic argument, for changing things for the worse, and sitting around on their butts while things happen that are not good. (Bush is the one of the reasons why aids is so bad in Africa, he took away the funding for aids research, and contraceptive education… it was his first thing to do in office. He took away funding for something that is desperately needed) They use that pathetic argument to justify to themselves the things that the government is doing, to justify the fact that the government is turning them all in to mindless slaves. They just say to themselves, “Oh it could be worse”. I agree, it could be worse, but that doesn’t mean that you should be content with the way things are if there is a possibility for making it better. *sigh*

Okay… on to the real point I started out to make. I don’t say the pledge of allegiance for several reasons. One being that I find it pointless, and frankly a mistake. Why would someone want to pledge their allegiance to a country (a flag) that is as corrupt as it is. Another reason and probably the biggest reason, is that I see the pledge as some sort of sick ritualistic flag worship. People standing up every morning saluting a flag, and repeating the same phrase since infancy; it seems almost like a prayer of sorts. It is disturbing. People are so blinded by worshipping this stupid piece of cloth that it is making them brainwashed. Also, I feel that it breaks some of God’s laws. The most important one being; thou shalt have no other gods before me, and also do not worship idols (graven images). The flag is becoming almost like an idol. It is hanging in every class room, on people’s houses, on street corners; everywhere! It is liken to the crucifixes that you see people hanging on their walls inside their houses, or those little tiki statues. Even Christians are so blinded by the propaganda that the media is feeding them; and sayings about patriotism and “GO USA”, or “GOD BLESS AMERICA”… etc… it totally takes the focus off of where it should be. God. People are putting this piece of cloth, an inanimate object before their father, their savior. And it is sickening. I don’t see why anyone would want to do this. To become another mindless drone blindly worshipping a FLAG and this is why I do not do it. I do not subject myself, to this ritualistic worship, and I do not care what people think of me. I tell people that it is against my religion, and they tell me I am full of crap. But I am guessing I am the only one who has thought of it like that.

I should think that this is enough reasons why I do not like the flag salute, and find it stupid, and insulting. And why I really extremely dislike our government. If you want more insane psycho Syd babblings just let me know, and I would be happy to let you in on some of my opinions… Because as you know, I could probably go on a lot longer, and get a lot more long winded than this. Heh.. I hope this cleared some things up for you. I like rambling about things, although they usually don’t get seen by the public, because no one cares about my opinions on the subjects, or they don’t care enough about the subjects themselves to bother reading them. Heh.. Well, anyways. Babble over.
