Thank you Kathy Hamaker for our lovely Italian Spinone "Circ" (aka Peanut)!!!
We are pleased to announce that Kala's Circondato Dai Giganti has made herself quite at home with us. Born December 23, 2004, her name is Italian and translates to Kala's Surrounded By Giants, which we thought was fitting, as she is, literally, surrounded by our gentle giants.

The Spinone, in my opinion, is one of the "best kept secrets" of the dog world. Originally (and still) bred to be a "bird dog" the Spinone excells in many other sports. I have found Peanut to be always eager to please, and very quick to pick up on new commands but not typical of many "hunter types" that are overly hyper or overly energetic. Always eager to please, this breed is exceptionally sensitive and is an ideal pet for many types of households.
As with all breeds, locating an exceptional and reputable breeder is of the essence when looking for a puppy. The Spinone Club of America provides breeder references as well as TONS of information about the breed, health concerns, pictures, and other information you may find useful if you are considering adding a Spinone to your home.

Practicing stacking!

Just like any kid she'd rather play with the box than the toys that came in it....

These two pictures are near and dear to my heart. I'm not sure if she was unhappy with the contents of the box, and was attempting to write a complaint, or if she was trying to write a thank you letter. The object she has in her mouth is a pen.. and I am still not completely positive where she found it. As soon as she found it though she came right over to the box, and for all intents and purposes looked as though she were trying to write on the box.
