Our Guarantee - FarView Great Danes and Spinone

Buying a puppy is a decision that is very important to a family. After all, it will impact your life for the next 10 to 13 years, which is why we offer the guarantee we do. My own first personal experience in buying a puppy from a "breeder" turned into a nightmare. Not only did the puppy require literally thousands of dollars in vet bills in the short year we had her, but she had temperament problems as well. After that experience I vowed I would never put anyone through the experience I had to go through. This is the main reason why I sell on contract only with my puppies... to help ensure they go to homes that will love them as part of the family and not to someone that simply wants a showpiece.

Below I have outlined the basics of the contract that my puppies go with. It includes both the responsibilities that I as a breeder have to you the buyer, and the responsibilities that you the buyer have to me and as well as to the new addition to your home.

FarView Great Danes formally and fully guarantees any puppy from our home against Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia, Cardiomyopothy, Thyroid Disorder, Premature Blindness and Premature Cataracts until the puppies 5th birthday.

In the event the puppy cannot be kept by the original owner, FarView Great Danes is to receive first option at taking the puppy back into their care.

FarView Great Danes can, with reasonable notice visit the puppies home to verify the care, maintenance and well being of the puppy.

No puppy from FarView Great Danes shall ever be kept in a kennel or tied to any object as a permenent means of confinement. Our puppies are meant to be kept and loved as family members and raised in the house. Not forgotten as something tied or kept outside.

If our guarantee should require implementation, FarView Great Danes has the right of refunding the original price of the puppy, or providing a replacement puppy of the same quality.

Puppy owners are NOT required to relinquish their puppy at any time in order for the guarantee to take effect, be valid, or receive a replacement puppy or refund. We feel that breeders that require puppies that develop defects to be returned to them is a loophole enabling them to not fullfill their end of the contract. Most pet owners do not want to relinquish their beloved pets - no matter what happens to them. If a breeders contract requires the puppy must be returned to the breeder or no refund or replacement puppy will be given, the breeder is more than likely hoping the puppy owner will not return the puppy, thus voiding the guarantee.

If a puppy develops a problem covered by our guarantee, we require diagnisis by two vets. One can be the families primary vet, and the other must be a specialist in the field of the disorder. This would enable us, the breeder, to determine how serious the problem is, and possibly diagnose if the problem was caused by genetics, disease, or injury. Radiographs, test results, and other documentation must be forwarded to FarView Great Danes at our request.

Puppies families are required to keep in contact on a regular basis with FarView Great Danes. If the family relocates, they must - within 90 days - notify FarView Great Danes of their new address and other contact information. Our guarantee and contract can be voided by FarView Great Danes if this very important provision is not met. It is *extremely* imporant to us to keep track of where our puppies are, and how they are doing.

We feel that our contract is the best way of safegarding our puppies welfare, the bloodlines we have, and our reputation.
