It is only when we realize that life is taking us nowhere that it begins to have meaning.

Divide in yourself the mechanical from the conscious, see how little there is of the conscious, how seldom it works, and how strong is the mechanical - mechanical attitudes, mechanical intentions, mechanical thoughts, mechanical desires.
The strangest and most fantastic fact about negative emotions is that people actually worship them.

ACIM: A Course In Miracles

You may believe that you are responsible for what you do, but not for what you think.

The truth is that you are responsible for what you think, because it is only at this level that you can exercise choice. What you do comes from what you think.
Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

Every thought you have makes up some segment of the world you see. It is with your thoughts, then, that we must work, if your perception of the world is to be changed.

Seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world.
What you see reflects your thinking. And your thinking but reflects your choice of what you want to see.

Look lovingly upon the present, for it holds the only things that are forever true.
Every situation, properly perceived, becomes an opportunity to heal.
What could you not accept, if you but knew that everything that happens, all events, past, present, and to come, are gently planned by One Whose only purpose is your good?

How simple is the Great Way to Salvation. All it says is that the world you see has nothing to do with reality. It is of your own making and does not exist. All it says is what was never true is not true now, and never will be. The impossible has not occurred and can have no effects. And that is all.

Can this be hard to learn by anyone who wants it to be true? You need simply let yourself be as you truly are and have always been.

No evidence will convince you of the truth of what you do not want.

Dalai Lama

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy.

Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.

In the practice of tolerance, one's enemy is the best teacher.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
In the final analysis, the hope of every person is simply peace of mind.
The highest happiness is when one reaches the stage of liberation, at which there is no more suffering.

Albert Einstein

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creaturesand the whole of nature in its beauty.

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.

It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

Buddha

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.

Awake. Be the witness of your thoughts. You are what observes, not what you observe.

There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.
Life can only take place in the present moment. If we lose the present moment, we lose life. The cause of all pain and suffering is ignorance.

Byron Katie

I have simply stopped arguing with reality. How do I know the wind should blow?

It's blowing. How do I know this is the highest order? It's happening. Arguing with 'what is' is liketeaching a cat to bark. It's not very fulfilling. I am my friend and no longer confused. The way I knowthat reality is good is that when I argue the point I experience tension, fear and frustration. I lose - not sometimes, but 100% of the time. It just doesn't feel natural inside: no balance, no connection. I want reality to change?

Hopeless. Let me change my thinking. Some of us mentally argue with 'what is.' Others of us attempt to control and change 'what is,' and then tell ourselves and others that we actually had something to do with any apparentchange that took place. This leaves no connection or room for God in my life. In the peaceful experience of noopposition to God, I remain aware of my nature: clear, vibrant, a friend, a listener.

Dr. David Hawkins

Make a gift of your life and lift all mankind by being kind, considerate, forgiving, and compassionate at all times, in all places, and under all conditions, with everyone aswell as yourself. This is the greatest gift anyone can give.

That which you resist stays. We change the world not by what we say or do, but as a consequence of what we have become.
Every thought, action, decision or feeling creates an eddy in the interlocking, interbalancing,ever-moving energy fields of life, leaving a permanent record for all of time. This realization can beintimidating when it first dawns on us, but it becomes a springboard for rapid evolution.

The more we give love, the greater our capacity to do so.

Love is misunderstood to be an emotion; actually, it is a state of awareness, a way of being in the world, a way of seeing oneself and others.

With humility comes the willingness to stop trying to control or change other people

or life situations or events ostensibly 'for their own good'. To be a committed spiritual seeker, it is necessary to relinquish the desire to be 'right' or of imaginary value to society.

In fact, nobody's ego or belief systems are of any value to society at all. The world is neither good nor bad nor defective, nor is it in need of help or modification because its appearance is only a projection of one's own mind. No such world exists.

Prayer: Holding in mind what you desire, but without adding desire to it.

Simple kindness to one's self and all that lives is the most powerful transformational force of all. All judgment reveals itself to be self-judgment in the end, and when this is understood a larger comprehension of the nature of life takes its place.

Everything you see happening is the consequence of that which you are.
The readiness to initiate the journey cannot be forced nor can people be

faulted if it has not occurred in them as yet. The level of consciousness has to have advanced to the stage where such an intention would be meaningful and attractive.

The downside of spiritual education is the buildup of the vanity of 'I know' and the

devaluation of people who are 'not spiritual'. Therefore it is important as a foundation to spiritual training and education to learn how consciousness manifests as the ego and its mechanisms.

Why give the ego more power by resisting and opposing it?
Everybody is like a magnet. You attract to yourself reflections of that which you are.

If you're friendly then everybody else seems to be friendly too.

The doorway to Divinity is located and available as a direct experience in the exact split second of 'now' which is discernable between two thoughts.

Spiritual evolution occurs as the result of removing obstacles and not actually acquiring anything new. Devotion enables surrender of the mind's vanities and cherished illusions so that it progressively becomes more free and more open to the light of Truth.

With spiritual work, the terms 'is' or 'are' become progressively replaced by the term 'seems to', whish is due to the increasing realization of the degree to which perception is the mask that hinders truth.

It is only the minority of people who seek self-improvement or personal growth. This is because whatever one's self-criticisms, one secretly really believes that one's way of being is okay and probably the only correct one. They are alright as they are, and all problems are caused by other people's selfishness, unfairness, and by the external world.

Ramana Maharshi

There is no greater mystery than this, that being the reality yourself, you seek to gain reality.

You think there is something binding your reality and that something must be destroyed before the reality is freed.

 This is ridiculous.

A day will dawn when you will laugh at all your efforts. What is there to realize? The real is always as it is.

You have realized the unreal, in other words, you regard the unreal as that which is real.

Give up this attitude and you will attain wisdom.

There is nothing new nor anything you do not already have which needs to be gained.

The feeling that you have not yet realized is the sole obstruction to realization.

In fact, you are already free. If it were not so, the realization would be new. If it has not existed so far, it must take place hereafter. What comes will also go, what can be gained can also be lost.

If realization is not eternal it is not worth having. Therefore what you seek is not that which must happen afresh. It is only that which is eternal, but not now known due to obstruction.

Remove the obstruction. That which is eternal is not known to be so because of ignorance.

Ignorance is the obstruction. Get over the ignorance and all will be well.

The ignorance is identical with the 'I-thought'. Find its source and it will vanish.

Then the Self alone will shine as it always has, in the stillness of being.

Deepak Chopra
For nearly a hundred years, we have known that the material world is an illusion.

Everything that seems solid - a rock, a tree, your body - is actually 99.999% empty space.

You and I are essentially infinite choice-makers. In every moment of our existence,

we are in that field of all possibilities where we have access to an infinity of choices.

There are no accidents... there is only some purpose that we haven't yet understood.
In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.

Eckhart Tolle

To offer no resistance to life is to be in a state of grace, ease, and lightness. This state is then no longer dependent upon things being in a certain way, good or bad.

It seems almost paradoxical, yet when your inner dependency on form is gone, the general conditions of your life, the outer forms, tend to improve greatly. Things, people, or conditions that you thought you needed for your happiness now come to you with no struggle or effort on your part, and you are free to enjoy and appreciate them - while they last.

All those things, of course, will still pass away, cycles will come and go, but with dependency gone there is no fear of loss anymore. Life flows with ease.
See if you can catch yourself complaining in either speech or thought, about a situation you find yourself in, what other people do or say, your surroundings, your life situation, even the weather. To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge. When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness.

Ernest Holmes

Never limit your view of life by any past experience.

G. I. Gurdjieff

It is only by grounding our awareness in the living sensation of our bodies that the

"I Am," our real presence, can awaken.

Self-observation brings man to the realization of the necessity of self-change.

And in observing himself a man notices that self-observation itself brings about certain changes in his inner processes. He begins to understand that self-observation is an instrument of self-change, a means of awakening.

Without self knowledge, without understanding the working and functions of his machine, man cannot be free, he cannot govern himself and he will always remain a slave.

Gandhi

Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words.
Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviors.
Keep your behaviors positive because your behaviors become your habits.
Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values.
Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.

Gary Zukav

There comes a time when the pain of continuing exceeds the pain of stopping. At that moment, a threshold is crossed. What seemed unthinkable becomes thinkable. Slowly, the realization emerges that the choice to continue what you have been doing is the choice to live in discomfort, and the choice to stop what you have been doing is the choice to breathe deeply and freely again. Once that realization has emerged, you can either honor it or ignore it, but you cannot forget it. What has become known can not become unknown again.

Marianne Williamson
Just like a sunbeam can't separate itself from the sun, and a wave can't separate itself from the ocean, we can't separate ourselves from one another. We are all part of a vast sea of love, one indivisible divine mind.

Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we have learned here. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and the acceptance of love back into our hearts.

Mother Theresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; ...Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.

Neale Donald Walsch

All you see in your world is the outcome of your idea about it. There is only one reason to do anything: as a statement to the universe of Who You Are.

Paramahansa Yogananda

Since you alone are responsible for your thoughts,
only you can change them.
You will want to change them
when you realize that each thought creates
according to its own nature.
Remember that the law works at all times
and that you are always demonstrating
according to the kind of thoughts you habitually entertain.
Therefore, start now to think only those thoughts
that will bring you health and happiness.
Know that this universe is nothing but a dream bluff of nature to test your consciousness of immortality.

Wayne Dyer

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Heaven on Earth is a choice you must make, not a place you must find.

Jesus

"Think on things of good report."

And when the disciples asked of Him, 'When will the Kingdom come?' He said," It will not come by watching for it. It will not be said, 'behold here or behold there,'Rather, the Kingdom of the Father is spread out upon the earth, and people do not see it."

Gary Renard

As the human race is exposed to new ideas, it becomes more and more apparent that the teachings given by the masters in are, and will continue to be, demonstrated by science to be true, and old ideas will be shown to be outdated...

There is no such thing as separation.

Jon Mundy, Miracles Magazine

When your avocation is your vocation, you’re always on vacation.

I would rather have peace of mind than give someone a piece of my mind.

Like everyone on the planet, I’m working my way home.

Nothing matters unless we make it matter.

Use the mind to go beyond the mind.

When it comes to mysticism, a lot can be said about what cannot be said.

God who is not material is “visible” in all things.

Mysticism is the doing of undoing.

You must close your eyes in order to see.

Mysticism is non-nihilistic negativity or – all there is is God.

 Consciousness is something and nothing.

Solitary mystic’s are the most connected of individuals.

Those who cease to be individuals gain their independence.

The best way to get somewhere is to let go of the need to be anywhere.

The less I mess with the world the less it messes with me.

Whatever path you choose, you have to work it so it can work you.

I would rather say, “I’m not enlightened” and be wrong about that than to say, “I am enlightened” and be wrong about that.
