LIQUID WATER - SHED

We are pleased to announce that effective from the 1st of January 2001,
that all our Dry Fly Patterns have been coated with "WATER-SHED".
The advantages of Water-Shed as stated below.
1. "Water - Shed" does not effect color of softness of materials, nor does it leave oil rings of any kind on the water surface.
2. "Water-Shed" is completely colorless after drying.
3. Floatability is not efected in any way by fish or weed.
4."Water-Shed" is a pre-fishing treatment and must be applied at least 24 hours prior to fishing.
5." Water-Shed" is low in gravity than water and it will virtually "dry" any DRY FLY tying material, to float like a cork

CADDIS FLY ( DRIES)
Fly fishermen categorize caddis-fly (sometimes called sedge) Larvae into two groups: The case-building caddis... lives on a protective case it constructs using sticks, leaves, sand or gravel, whereas the free living caddis range about underwater without benefit of any such protection or camouflage. Some case builders attach themselves to rocks or logs, while others carry their cases about as they search for food. Their head, legs, and sometimes a small portion of their body, extend from the case opening. Trout ingest these immature insects, case and all, whenever the opportunity presents itself. Both cased caddis and free-living caddis will, from time to time, allow themselves to drift freely with the current. The most prevalent from of drift occurs just after sunset and again just before sunrise. At these times the Larvae are particularly vulnerable and the trout will readily accept a good imitation

 MAYFLY DRIES・
It is known that we fly fishers pass many types of flies through the trout window. I would
Be willing to bet though, that through the history of fly-fishing the most common type of dry fly
Ever passed through the window of the trout is The Mayfly

The dry fly might get all the glory, but for day-in-day-out ability to catch fish through out the season, give me the nymph every time. After all, there are only a few times during the year when trout (and other species have an opportunity to feed heavily upon the surface. The rest of the time they must forage underwater to find food, and this means nymphs and a handful of other creatures. Thus, the fly fisher who wants to consistently catch fish learns to catch them with nymphs. Today we accept the artificial nymph as a valuable component of fly-fishing, but this hasn't always been the case. The nymph was once seldom used and low in status. To some it was sort of the fly-fishers version of live bait. This was a common thought in the late nineteenth century in England. And it is significant as England is the cradle of fly-fishing, and the home of many of its traditions. In the past I have heard continuing debates between fly tiers, "as to how do we tie a perfect nymph". This is my assumption: Taking into account the little we know about a trout's feeding habits, it seems logical to me. That nymph recognition consist of the following FOUR (4) FACTORS:

SIZE - SHAPE - COLOR - CONSISTANCEY

Amen.
