Children
Jesus tells us in the Scripture to not hold back a child from coming to Him. Our children at McPheeters Bend are very special to us. They are not children "to be seen and not heard". Not only do they get together for special events and activities, but also they take an active role in our church worship especially at special times of the year such as Christmas and Easter.
Special Events
Our children have many special events during the year beginning with their Valentine's Party in February. The next special event is the Children's Easter Egg Hunt. A week before Easter, over 600 eggs are hidden for children to find. Every child finds some eggs and then enjoys refreshments provided by the church.
At the end of the school year and/or the beginning of the school year, our church sponsors a "Getting Out of School" or "Going Back to School" Party. The children enjoy the "Getting Out of School" Party much, much more! Next on the menu is the October Fall Festival. The children enjoy exciting games and great food. They receive some neat prizes from the games. The emphasis is on fun, not costumes. We then proceed to the Children's Christmas Party, another time for great food and great fun.
And A Child Shall Lead Them
The children at McPheeters Bend also take an active role in worship and missions at our church. The Children's Sunday School classes put on a Christmas Program and an Easter Program. Some of our children travel with their parents on our annual Church Mission Trip.
