Steve Retchless won the Ryemoor Trophy Rally for the second year running, while for his navigator Iain Tullie it was a third win in three outings, following on from his successes on the Le Jog and Winter Trial. The pair dropped time at just two controls to come home over two minutes ahead of the opposition.

Ade Green/Kev Wilson took the runner up spot, while Guy Robinson/Charlie Wheeldon, on unfamiliar territory, were third. Stan Featherstone/Sasha Heriot might have been closer to the front but for a misfire in the first half, they finished fourth.

James Tyson/Neil Harrison and Terry Martin/Paul Taylor finished well down the order after both missed a route check.

Last year’s winning navigator, Sam Collis, swapped seats and, with Andy Townend on the maps, drove his way to the Novice Class award.
