Roger Lewis - PhotoRog

Foreword by Roger Lewis:

Carol and I met back in the eighties in my photo studio in London, where she was modeling a collection for a catalogue fashion spread and through the years and as good friends we have kept in touch.

I was delighted when she suggested that she would love to contributed a page on her experiences as a stylist for our website and readily agreed to the idea.

I hope all will find it interesting as Carol is a shining example of an ex model that has stayed in the business and contributes her fashion designs and ideas to Women who want to look their best for a special event and have the good sense to recognize her many talents in the trade.

By Carol Fashion: I started modelling when I was almost 18. My aunt sent my photo to Super Chicks, one of the top agencies in the eighties and I was hired. I have worked in a fashion house and did catalogue work. I was married at 21 and it meant my modeling career was almost over as my husband did not like me travelling. I still modelled for exclusive boutiques, mainly in-house work and this lasted for a number of years. From the experience I gained, it was an obvious choice later to work as a stylist, advising Women how to dress for that special occasion, for which I built up quite a reputation in the trade, this is where I am today.

FORMER MODEL AND PHOTOROG STUNNER IN RESTAURANT BRAWL!

Model Carol Fashion

News Item from our photorog blog reporter:

Last weekend a fight broke out in a Dorset restaurant over stunning PhotoRog star Carol Fashion.

The men in question were unidentified. Apparently one was an old boyfriend who took offence when the other guy approached the model.

Ms Fashion was at the time having dinner with Photorog boss Roger Lewis who whisked her outside to his car.

Onlookers said that the pair hurriedly got in the car which sped away before any further brawls spilled into the street. Things at the restaurant quietened down before the authorities were called.

Here is an Unsolicited story from Carol Fashion talking about our early days, it's a pleasure to print it. Thanks Carol. Roger Lewis
As a model I have worked with many photographers but Roger has always been my favourite and I believe I am his favourite model. He is one of the most experienced and professional photographers in the business. He knows how to get the best out of the models and has a keen eye for fashion.

We are very much in step together when it comes to co ordinating clothes. Very rarely have we disagreed. It was not always this way. When I first met Roger I was a young and inexperienced model and he was older and had worked in the industry for years, I learned a lot from him.

One occasion sticks in my mind when I was dressing for a shoot and Roger was outside the dressing room. I was taking ages and he was getting impatient as he had a tight schedule. I was modelling a blouse which buttoned at the back, the girl assistant had not shown and I was struggling to reach the buttons and do them up.

I explained my dilemma to him and in no time he came in and buttoned me up in seconds, luckily the girl showed up and I was spared the unbuttoning. With a professional photographer there is no embarrassment and no taking advantage. It is all done in the most professional manner to spare the job. Thank you Roger what an expert.

Dear Readers, I have just had a long discussion with PhotoRog about another passion of mine, Lingerie. Yes I adore sexy lingerie.

My golden rule is to match the colours to my outfit. Silk and lace are my favourites. Little bra and panty sets, lace up all in ones, basques and stockings.

Girls believe me it is a great treat for your man. Imagine you spend ages on your outfit, don't let your lingerie let you down.

For me it is a huge thrill to let my man undress me and to hear his breath draw after undoing the first few buttons on my dress or blouse when he catches sight of my lingerie, sometimes he gets so aroused that he rips my buttons off in passion.

Men like to take charge so always look glamorous, sexy and feminine. Think Joan Collins. Give him extra work by having him unlace your basque, they enjoy it more if they have to work for us.  Email me at: CarolFashion@photorog.com

Hi everyone, I have just returned from a long trip to Austria where an old client needed my input. I ended up staying longer for a well earned rest. I was in a very remote area but took advantage of the time and visited some of the highest skilled seamstresses.

My client is an importer of top quality fabrics and we both had some beautiful dresses designed and made up for us. I love having exclusive designs that nobody else has.

You too can own you own 'one off'. Find or create a design, shop for fabric and get a good seamstress. If you are inexperienced you may need advice as not every fabric can be sewn into any design. I am more than happy to assist so write to me.

Back from the the trip, PhotoRog was wowed by one particular red dress, we were sipping wine together discussing our fashion page and he remarked on the the fabric and silk buttons. I had to remind him that we had business to attend to. I am back and refreshed and look forward to receiving your emails.  Email me at: CarolFashion@photorog.com

As an ex model and current stylist I like to think I know about fashion. People assume dressing a model is the easiest part of the job but get it wrong and the results are dreadful.

Women come to me to help them choose the perfect outfit for that special occasion or to help them renew their wardrobes. Everything has to be taken into consideration, accessories like jewellery handbags etc.

Recently one of my clients was fitted with an outfit for a wedding. I pieced everything together but something was'nt quite right. She wore a gorgeous navy dress and I had her accessorised in matching colours.

As she paraded up and down for me I realised what it was. Her dress buttoned down the front and the buttons were shiny, there it was, the shoes and handbag were changed to patent of the same colour.

The result was stunning and this reflected on the photographs, she was showered with compliments on the day.

It's the little details that can make a difference. If you are wearing a low cut blouse the skirt must never be short, a high neck can be matched with a shorter skirt, combining sexy with class is essential. I could go on but I am willing to answer any questions from readers. Email me at: CarolFashion@photorog.com

Q & A:
Dear Carol. I have seen your column on a photographic site, www.photorog.com, and would like some advice. I will be attending a wedding in a few weeks and have bought a high neck blouse to match a long skirt. Do you think my hair should be worn up or down? Jenna.

Dear Jenna. I believe hair up is more elegant on high necks. If the buttons are at the front and you are tall then you can wear your hair down. If they are at the back then definitely up to show that detail. It gives a wow factor I believe. Let me know how you did. Carol.
