Become a Knight
Why become a Knight? Who are the Knights anyway?
First of all, let's look at what Knights are not.
The Knights of Columbus are not a secret society. No secret
passwords. No funny handshakes.
The Knights of Columbus are a fraternal organization--the world's
largest lay Catholic family service organization. Founded in 1882 by
Father Michael J. McGiney, it now has more than 1.6 million members
in 13 countries.
The Knights aim to serve not only their Church, but also their com-
munity. We do this by following 4 basic principles: Charity, Unity,
Fraternity, and Patriotism.
To find out more about the Knights, there are some good resources
available: These Men They Call Knights as well as Knights Overview.

In addition, Knights are offered, through The Knights of
Columbus Insurance Program, life insurance programs to fit the needs
of both individual members and their families.
