Father Martin and Al Lee first discussed starting a council during the summer of

2008.

First mention of the roundtable, under council 6020, leading to a possible separate council, was the July 20th issue of the Parish Bulletin. There was a table

at the Parish Luau that afternoon.

Dave Brach, Grand Knight of Council 6020, and Al

Lee, coordinator of the roundtable at the Parish

Luau

On Sept 25th the Knights participated in setting up for the Pancake Breakfast the

following day, and helped in the cleanup.

First meeting of the Roundtable was August 4th in the family room. It was largely

informational & included a video and presentation by Mike McGranahan. Also

speaking were Mick Fern & Mark Refe, District 87 officials.

There was a First Degree Initiation in the Parish Family Room on Friday Aug. 22nd

at 8 pm.

On October 8th there was a 2nd Degree initiation at the Columbian Hall at 7836

October 18th.

A roundtable meeting was held Tuesday Oct. 21. St Mary’s Roundtable was

established & Al Lee was appointed coordinator.

On Saturday Oct. 25th, Knights helped set up for the Oktoberfest dinner, and on the 26th helped to clean up.

November 9th, Sunday, Knights from St. Mary’s met at St. John Neumann’s to undergo the “3rd Degree”.

Nov. 11th a Roundtable meeting was held in the Family Room.

Mark Refe went through a small part of the by-laws & the responsibilities of the officers. Nominations were made, to be voted on at the Dec. 9th meeting.

Dec. 9th Elections were held, and it was announced there would be a Spring

Festival to be sponsored by the Council.

During the month of December, Knights sold Keep Christ in Christmas cards after

Masses.  Also, Knights were involved in setting up the Nativity scene.

Friday January 30th, Knights help set up tables for the Parish rummage sale.  The

next day the sale was held from 8 to 3; it was considered a success.

On February 10th, it was announced that we were  finally a council, Number

14699!

Later that week Knights helped set up for the Mardi Gras dinner, which was held

the following day, February 15th, from 4 to 7 pm.

On March 23rd a special meeting was held to go over the Installation Mass on

the following Saturday, and the reception dinner afterwards.

On March 28th, a little after 11 in the morning, Father Martin held the

Installation Mass at St. Mary's by the Sea, during which the officers of

our council were formally installed.

After the Mass, there was a reception luncheon in the Family Room.
