We are now selling, mainly because Washington foreign trade policies have changed America's economy from producing to consuming. Americans now throw things away and buy new throwaways from China which exports products made literally with slave, captive, or convict labor under communism. We can no longer make a living as we used to by servicing and repairing (yesterday's) quality products. Unfortunately, quantity and expediency have replaced quality and conservation generally in the American market and economy, not just in electronics. That scenario is not a "competition" (in world markets) issue, because legitimate competion assumes a level playing field. Remember "We will sell you the rope you hang yourself with"? The communists told us that years ago. Take a look around today! We are swimming in junk from China, thanks to politicians who legislate and promote "free trade" that's only free for communist China.
