| This picture is one of Steph's favorites. While at the Seattle Waterfront, we went into Bay Pavillion where there are several specialty shops, the Crab Pot Restaurant and the FIsherman's Inn and an arcade with a carousel. Watching the carousel, Steph and Jenni remenisced about riding the carousel as little girls... So we relived our youth... Truly, it is the simple pleasures. |

While Steph and Ben were in boot camp, the Navy had this program called "Adopt a Sailor." It was set up to allow local families to host a sailor (or several as many did) over the holidays. We had not been in training long enough over Thanksgiving to qualify, but at Christmas, we had been. Steph was "adopted" by the Sitko family, Tom, Jacqui and Jenni in Elgin, IL. Jenni, 12 at the time, was an only child and always wanted a sister. She and Steph bonded instantly, and Steph remained in touch with the family since leaving the Great Lakes Area. Often, we would talk about visits that hadn't materialized, until President's Day weekend, 2005. Unfortunately, Ben was still on deployment, but Steph and Jenni got to spend an entire weekend catching up and sight seeing around Seattle. |

| Jenni bonded with Baby, too... Often over the weekend while the girls were lounging around, exchanging stories and memories, Baby woud be torn between cuddling with Stephanie or cuddling with Jenni. He spent every night that Jenni was in town snuggling with her as she slept and seemed truly disappointed when she left. That couldn't match how sad Steph was to see her go... We hope to have her back for a visit, hopefully a longer one, very soon. | |
