My angel with a broken wing
In so much pain , she couldn’t sing
I nursed her well ,as time went by
Till she’d regained, the strength to fly
I knew I had to set her free
To that big stage far away from me
To sing again heavenly songs
As if in skies, where she belongs
Within the darkness of her soul
A heart beats race and wondering eyes
Shaking fingers frozen cold
She waits for red curtains to rise
"God will she be able to sing
My angel with a broken wing??!!!"
Surrounded by a halo of light
Pretty angel with face so bright
With liquid diamonds in her eyes
And as she sang I felt her sighs
On that high stage in that great hall
I could sense her shivering soul
I watched in silence from within
The trembles of her shadows far
As she sang song after song
While shining like a northern star
The angel with her crystal wings
Outspread as if to soar
Under the rains of roses
Lay helpless on the floor
The perfume of the loving hearts
Sprayed gently at her beauty
Yet lay so deep within her soul
A heartache that no one could see
When Egyptian skies they shed their rain
I knew the angel’s heart in pain
But the pain just made her sing
Under shelter of her wing
Her tears shattered Cairo’s heart
But her smile was never gone
Shining from the dusk till dawn
So warm like a second sun
“God how could she possibly sing
My angel with a broken wing ??!!!”
The red curtains of loving hearts
Fell down and music no more played
Just silent painful lights so cold
Her own light had to fade
Within the darkness of her soul
One weak heart and two swollen eyes
Shaking fingers frozen cold
She waits for a single hope to rise
I told her things would be all right
But wind has swept my words away
And I thought she’d never hear
All the things I had to say
I captured that look in her eyes
As her plea was ringing out
I felt her voice needed to scream
In a loud agonizing shout
Her sister’s life broke at its Spring
And angel’s soul broke down as well
Under the rains of roses
Her white wings slowly fell
She broke into a thousand lights
That glimmered as the sun
when she saw her sister’s tears
On face of every one
The sound of clapping hands went on
And applause to greatest art
Not knowing that behind that curtain
There was a broken angel’s heart
