Once upon a time
On the land of the cedars
On a beautiful sunny day
A little bird was born
The little bird lived
In a lovely cozy nest
With daddy bird ,mommy bird
Lived that lovely bird
Different from the rest
One night the little bird
Heard her daddy play a note
This lovely musical note
And eversince that night
She wouldn't get to sleep
Without hearing that note
One day she asked her dad
Please teach me how to sing
The two of them then sang
And taught the birds to sing
They sang every morning
Until the sunset
They sang and soared
As loud as they can
As high as they could get
The echo of their songs
Could reach the mountain top
And reached down the valley
And yet they wouldn't stop
Until that gloomy day
When leaves stopped clinging
The sky went gray
The birds stopped singing
Hungry fires everywhere
Blood, and ashes here and there
Aching hearts, and childrens' screams
Just overwhelmed the air
No more smiles, and no more songs
The death of nature isn't fair
The Lebanese bird had
to desert her land
She sang at every window
For us to understand
She traveled east
She traveled west
She was loved by everybody
She was a very welcomed guest
Everyone heard her sad songs
About her terribly aching land
She touched the heart of every one
And had the world go hand in hand
How someone's land could be so precious
How someone's land could be so dear
And even if you're far from home
With your spirit you will be near
She traveled south
She traveled north
She showed the world
the homeland's worth
It's worth the "sacrifice"
It is worth the "dying for"
It's worth giving much away
And to give away much more
The whole world
Got to love the bird
They adored her courage
And songs that they've heard
After each of her visits
She returned to her land
To see the mountain and the valley
And the beach of gold sand
Little bird, you're a hero
Eventhough you're weak
You support your own country
And the freedom you seek
While big tongues of humans
Don't know how to speak
Little bird, we all love you
And love your brave heart
Your singing and smiling
Conceal your sad heart
One day Peace will come
And you will sure safely live
You'll rebuild your homeland
As you've always learned to give
