Salmoides Classic 2009 qualifiers
Congratulations! Your team has qualified to attend the Classic to be held this year at
Kentucky Lake April 10 through May 16 2010 at the Moors Resort & Marina,
Gilbertsville, Kentucky. April 10 through 14 practice, April 15and 16 tournament days. To know if you qualified go

Classic Payout
We will pay the top 15 places
at the classic. We will inform you of the payout when we get the rest of the
sponsor money pledged. Moors money will be presented in 5 separate checks for
teams that stay at the Moors for the 5 days of the tournament from April 12-16
2010. 1st $1000 2nd $800 3rd $700 4th
$600 5th$400. Don’t wait until the last minute to book your rooms at
Moors. This money is to be paid to the highest finishers who stay at Moors
regaurdless of how they placed in the tournament.

The rules for this special
tournament are as follows: Please
read and & follow them carefully!
- After
receiving this invitation which will be sent to the boaters of each team that will
attend the classic, your team or team member is in no way allowed to hire
a guide (past or present) or fish with a guide (past or present) from or
on this total body of water & all connecting waters accessible by
boat.
- Off limits to be on the water on Kentucky Lake and any and all connecting
waters accessible by boat
will start at midnight April 4, 2010.
As of APRIL 9, 2010 at
midnight you may not fish with or obtain any information from any guide,
professional fisherperson, or any local fisherperson of Kentucky &
Barkley Lakes. Violation of this rule will be automatic disqualification.
- There will be 5 authorized practice days. The 5
practice days are April 10-14 2010. You may use the hours of your choice
for these practice days. You may use any launch ramp for the 5 days of
practice. Registration will
start at 4PM till 5PM (local time) in the great room at Moors Resort on
April 14 2010.
- A meeting will take place at the Moors Resort at
5PM (local time) April 14 2010. The meeting is for receiving boat numbers,
going over the rules, giving out some prizes and taking care of any
matters that may come up. Teams
are encouraged to attend this meeting. No fishing after this meeting until the start of the
tournament.
- Tournament starting and stopping times will be
determined at the April 14 meeting.
- The Classic Championship winners will have an
automatic invitation to the next years Classic.
- In case of a 1st place tie, a fish-off
will be required.
- All contestants must wear a coast guard approved
vest or preserver while the gasoline motor is running.
- All state and local laws must be observed and
obeyed.
- Any participant cited during tournament hours for
a violation of state, marine, or fishing laws will be disqualified.
- All fishing must be done from a boat.
- Only artificial lures, with the exception of pork
trailers, will be permitted. Trolling as a method of fishing is
prohibited.
- All boats must be equipped with some type of
ignition kill switch. An aeriated live well or aeriated container is
mandatory. All boats must comply with the U.S. Coast Guard horsepower
rating.
- Fishing is permitted anywhere within the
tournament waters and or connecting waters during specified times, except
that no contestant is allowed to fish within 50 yards of public gas dock
and any area that has been designated a “No Fishing” area by the governing
body of the lake or the tournament directors.
- All bass will be returned to the tournament
waters if found to be in good shape and expected to live.
- Fishing is not allowed within 50 yards of another
competitor’s boat which was first anchored. A boat is considered anchored
only if it is tied to an object or has an anchor rope over its side with
trolling motor out of the water. Contestants must not depart boat to land
fish. Contestants must leave and return to official check point by boat.
In the event of equipment failure or emergency, there shall by two
permitted method for returning to the check in: (1) by both partners
remaining in their boat and being towed by water or (2) by one partner
entering the boat of another Salmoides tournament contestant with the
teams catch.
- Any occurrence not governed by the rules will be
governed by tournament directors. If more interpretation of the rules is
needed, Salmoides Tournament directors will make the final interpretation.
- If you have boat problems the tournament
directors will give you all the assistance they can, after tournament
hours.
- Daily limit will be 5 bass per team. All bass
must be the stated legal length. Scoring will be total weight combined of
largemouth, small mouth, or spotted bass. Length limit on all bass will be
the same as the states largemouth legal length. Short fish will be
penalized one pound per short fish.
- One (1) pound from total weight of fish will be
deducted for each minute the team is late and the team will be
disqualified after five minutes. If a team gets disqualified the 1st
day they may fish the 2nd day. If a team gets disqualified the
2nd day, the teams 1st day catch cannot be taken
away.
- A penalty of eight (8) ounces per dead fish will
be deducted from total weight. All stringed or mangled fish will be
rejected from teams catch.
- All contestants will be subject to random
polygraph test and must take the tests.
- No
alternates allowed to fish
the Classic Tournament. If you fish by yourself you must bring an
observer. All observers will be switched for both days. If you fish by
yourself and with an observer you
will be allowed 5 bass each day. A special meeting for observers will be
held immediately after the meeting
- All boats and live wells must be checked before
the start of the tournament each day.
- Boat check will begin at 4:00 AM the morning of
the tournament.
- All protests must be made within 10 minutes after
weigh in time.
- Violation of any of these rules may be cause for
suspension or disqualification from this and all future Salmoides
tournaments.
- A courtesy measuring board will be set up for
your convenience. Please measure all fish before they come to the scales.
Any fish that are doubtful of making the legal limit will be measured. No
official will man the courtesy board. Once the fish are taken at the weigh
in table only Salmoides officials will be allowed to handle the fish.
- During the tournament hours, cell phones or any
other communication devices may be used for any purpose other than any
information pertaining to largemouth, small mouth, or Kentucky (spotted)
bass.
- The boat being used for this tournament must
maintain current liability insurance for this Classic Event.
