            Congratulations to Don Roberts from Bellville, OH and his partner Dwight Crowner from Grand Ledge, Michigan for their 1st place finish at Kentucky Lake May 11-12, 2006 in the Salmoides Classic.  They took home a first place check of $15,000.00 and $1,000.00 for the Ranger Cup, which is the highest finisher in this tournament, with a total weight of 45.08 lbs.

            In the interview they stated that they traveled 40-50 minutes to get to their fishing area.  Don and Dwight said that they found their larger fish when using a drop shot technique.  When asked where they found their fish, they did not want to reveal that information because they are automatically qualified to defend their championship at Kentucky Lake May 10-11, 2007.

            We would like to congratulate Greg and David Hawk from Vandalia, OH for their second place finish in the Salmoides Classic. Greg and David took home a check for $8,000.00 with a weight of 42.76 lbs.

            When asked about their success Greg said they didn’t think they would do this well at the Classic this year, but after the second day of practice they did find fish and their confidence in their pattern rose 100%. Their winning catch was taken from Barkley Lake about 45 minutes from Moor’s Resort.  They caught their second place finish on worms and crank baits.  This team is on of the most consistent teams in the Salmoides Circuit.  Great job Greg and David, who are sponsored by Pure Fishing, Plapps Pro Outdoors, Extra Edge, and Lazer Lures.

            Third place went to Gary Dees from Hamilton, OH and Steve Floyd from Sabina, OH with a catch of 38.70 lbs. for $4,000.00.  Steve was our second place finisher in the 2005 Classic and took home $8,000.00 plus the Ranger Cup for another $1,000.00.

            This team is also a very consistent team in Salmoides Ohio River Division.  Steve and Gary are also sponsored by Ranger Boats and Dixie Marine of Fairfield, OH.

            In closing, we would like to say thanks to everyone who qualified for the Salmoides Classic.  In our opinion and in the opinion of Moor’s Resort, Salmoides fishermen always show respect and courtesy wherever they are fishing.  We are always complimented on the way our fishermen handle themselves, whether it be in the winners circle, on the water, or at the ramp.  When it comes to winning or losing, all of our fishermen handle themselves extremely well. And for this we are thankful.
