Two poems from Matt
Free Bound to earth Tied down by gravity Never free
Life rushes by A whirlwind of images It will not stop for me
So much happening Yet I know not of it Fear of the future is constant Peace impossible Attempts at movement are futile Nothing stops for me I must break through this barrier of time Gathering all the power I know I attack the wall I pass through Time ceases Life is carefree Bonds disappear Gravity is no more I have no need for control The meaning of inner peace ... revealed True relaxation is constant Fear is unknown All is eternal No changes occur All is perfect I am in an empty world of completeness In a dream In heaven Floating
Nowhere Everywhere I am wherever I wish to be I am truly free
Rocks, Wind, Water the Rocks sat surveying the world in silence, never sharing their thoughts they simply wait watching, learning, for all eternity
there is the Wind eternal with the Rocks. free, yet confined able to fly, unable to control having no power and their eternity is forever watching
now there is the Water peacefull and sleeping, breathing waves. forever in slumber unknowing of the world their ignorance is peace existence is pleasant... watching for eternity Copyright 2001 by Matthew Seliga. Used with permission of the author.

Two from Daniel
Hatred
Hatred lies not in the shadows, but all around you in life.
He stares at you through hard, unforgiving eyes.
He is not young nor old, not white nor black:
bu every age and every race.
Everywhere.
Waiting to take a stab at your gentle demeanor.
Depression
Depression is a young neglected woman.
Her skin is pale from years of being inside.
Her dark eyes on the verge of tears.
She sits, watching the other families and couples stroll by.
She sits and thinks about her despair and her miserable life.
She feels isolated.
She feels as if no one cares about her.
Alone.

Does Heaven Have a Phone Numba?
Mommy went to Heaven,
but I need her here today.
My tummy hurts and I fell down;
I need her right away.
Operator, can you tell me
how to find her in this book?
Is Heaven in the yellow part?
I don't know where to look.
I think my daddy needs her too,
at night I hear him cry.
I hear him call her name sometimes,
but I really don't know why.
Maybe if I call her, she will hurry home to me.
Is Heaven very far away? Is it across the sea?
She's been gone a long, long time -
she needs to come home now!
I really need to reach her.
I simply don't know how.
Help me find the number, please.
Is it listed under "Heaven"?
I can't read these big, big words;
I am only seven.
I'm sorry, Operator,
I didn't mean to make you cry.
Is your tummy hurting too --
Or is there something in your eye?
If I call my church
maybe they will know.
Mommy said when we need help
that's where we should go.
I found the number to my church
tacked up on the wall.
Thank you, Operator,
I'll give them a call.
